What We Do

Welcome to the Division of Blind Services.

We are dedicated to serving the needs of visually impaired people of all ages in the state of Florida. Our responsibility is to ensure that those who have visual impairments can live independently and achieve their goals and aspirations. With over forty years experience, we have a rich history of serving the community in order to make these goals a reality.

We provide a wide variety of services for people of all ages. Our children’s services aim to provide assistance to visually impaired youths and their families in order to successfully transition from preschool to school, and from school to work or other community programs. We also offer numerous employment programs, and our Bureau of Brail and Talking Book Library administrators a wonderful library program of materials for eligible readers.

In 2007, we received the Governor's Sterling Award, recognizing quality and excellence. We’re proud to report that overall customer satisfaction has consistently exceeded ninety percent, and we’re working to make that number even higher. We even offer free service to qualifying participants.
